Complete flexibility

The MPS was refurbishing its premises on the Earls Court Road and wanted to equip its command and control centre with a state-of-the-art audio-visual (AV) solution.

The installation had to be completely flexible, allowing the multiple large screens, sound system and video conferencing facilities to be used for any combination of video conferencing, satellite and/or terrestrial TV, CCTV playback, video playback and mapping information.

Quadnet partnered with a specialist AV supplier to design a solution that would meet the MPS’ demanding requirements.

The solution was based on HP Compaq PCs with widescreens, 42 inch screens, a video conferencing system and audio system. The whole solution was controlled by a touch screen control system. In addition, for the video conferencing, Quadnet installed secure ISDN lines.

The state-of-the-art system has improved collaboration between forces and units

Combined computing and audio/visual expertise enabled an optimum solution to be developed

Having the flexibility to route video and sound reduces the number of screens that are needed
